When two poets fall in love, it’s like watching words come alive. And that’s exactly what happened with Shannon and Luke, who found each other in a poetry class and sparked an instant connection.
As a Pittsburgh wedding videographer, I had the honor of capturing their love story on December 16, 2023, at the breathtaking Laube Hall in Freeport, PA. Let me tell you, it was an extraordinary day filled with heartwarming moments and a touch of holiday magic ❄️
Laube Hall holds a special place in Luke’s family’s hearts, as it’s witnessed numerous weddings throughout the years, including his parents’.
Laube Hall has also been going through some impressive renovations that beautifully blend its historical charm with modern upgrades.
The vibes were immaculate for a mid-December wedding. There was a subtle vintage holiday flair, with dried oranges delicately placed around, velvet greens infusing a cozy vibe, and a table place card display that stole the show.
This masterpiece combined their love for poetry and the holiday season, featuring fresh wood and pine accents, dried oranges, and bookmarks that showcased the names of each guest alongside snippets of their favorite poems 🍊🎄
Now let’s talk about the vows. Shannon and Luke being poets, it was only fitting that their vows were poems in themselves. Their heartfelt words were so thoughtful, sentimental, and downright beautiful that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. (Seriously, even I had to discreetly dab away a tear from behind my camera lens.) Their love story was woven into every word, creating a tapestry of emotions that truly touched everyone’s hearts. ❤
But what struck me the most was their welcome speech at the reception. Shannon was spot on when she said that sometimes there are too many reasons not to elope. I get it, planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Shannon and Luke made it a point to gather all their loved ones in one room. You could feel the love, the contagious joy, and the festive spirit in the air.
